Here’s a typical scenario:

You’re a small to medium size business owner just starting out. You know you need a website and you’re trying to save money, right?

Okay. So far, so good.

You sign up with an Internet provider who offers you a free website. It’s a basic type of website–no fancy sliders, calls to action, or assistance in writing your content for each page–but you figure you can do without the fancy-schmancy stuff until you get a little more cash under your belt. Plus, heck! You took a few English classes in your day; banging out a few pages about what you know best is easy-peasey.

So, you spend a lot of time–I mean A LOT of time–trying to figure out building this website. You sacrificed a few sales meetings, dinners with the family, and your bed says it misses you.

After a few months, you finally get that website up and it’s on the Internet. Yay for you! But, when you search on a keyword for your business, your website is found in the search results on page 29.

No one finds your business online. Worse yet, you have no conversions; meaning visitors who actually pick up the phone or fill out a form for more information while on your website.

This scenario happens more often than I care to count. I know we’re all trying to save a buck, but when it comes to your online presence, you truly get what you pay for. If you don’t hire an expert who knows about SEO what’s the sense of building a website in the first place?

What Is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

SEO is the process of positioning your website to rank highly in search results, making your website visible to people who are looking for a business like yours. For example, a moving company wants to be visible in search results when people search on “best moving service.” Optimum visibility in the search rankings requires SEO. SEO involves ongoing updates to your website and persistent content marketing. Content marketing is a critical part of SEO because it builds your online brand, earns links and boosts your website’s authority.

SEO has the best long-term return on investment because you do not pay for clicks from natural search results. This doesn’t mean SEO is free. A dynamic REAL SEO program is needed to earn and maintain great rankings.

What is REAL SEO?

  • Research – We identify facts and information about your business, keywords and themes that attract people looking for your products and services, and lay the groundwork for the campaign.
  • End-User Value – We design meaningful content, including articles, blogs, infographics and videos that will be of genuine interest to your clients and potential clients.
  • Analysis – We track, fine-tune and optimize the campaign to make sure it’s reaching your clients, potential clients and the search engines.
  • Launch – We distribute the content to the right people and places, engage people across the web, earn links to your website and improve your search rankings.

Don’t just take our word for it… You Can See Success!

The entire process is tracked in our online marketing portal. You’ll see the content we create and detailed progress of your search rankings. Rather than build our own point service for each reporting need, we have taken advantage of open web APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that allow us to automatically analyze information that normally would require hours of data collection and complex spreadsheet formulas. Our portal is included with any marketing package but can also be provided as a standalone service.

So, what does this mean for you? It means that you can make decisions faster and with fewer errors. It also means that you have access to your campaign information 24/7 through your own dashboard. If you’d rather get email updates, we can inform you about new leads, traffic and keyword trends as well in a consolidated monthly report.

We have also added Yext Power Listings to our local campaigns to allow us to manage more than fifty local directories (including Yelp, Facebook, and Foursquare) for our clients. This integration also includes customer review monitoring and full analytics.

But Search Ranking Is Only Part Of It…

Let’s say you’ve had a website online for a number of years and it’s ranked number one in search rankings. Most customers are always looking to be number one, right? But, you can’t be number one unless your website is actually working for you.

This means that your website needs to drive conversions–getting people to not just visit your website but to get them to pick up the phone and call you or submit a form. I mean, that’s what a website is for–to drive customers to your business.

Ranking on page one is great, but if your website isn’t providing those conversions, what’s the point? Think of it this way… let’s say your website needs to generate 2 new customers for you per month and it takes 4 leads to get you those 2 new customers. Based on those numbers and a conservative website conversion rate (conversion rate is your site lead someone to pick up the phone and call you or fill out a form on your website) of 3% you would need to be generating at minimum 200 visits to your website to get to your 2 new customers per month. How many visits is your website getting?

At the end of the day (I hate using that term, but I’m using it here because I can’t think of another phrase), none of this is an exact science and SEO may not always work. Like any marketing campaign there is always a small risk. Here at Cyber-Construction we pride ourselves on approaching each client with complete transparency to find the right online marketing solution for your specific business.
